Crime Stoppers Reward Offered in Attempted Robbery Case

NAPERVILLE CRIME STOPPERS are offering up to a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest of person(s) responsible for the attempted robbery of a United States Postal Service mail carrier.

On October 4, 2017 at approximately 11:15 a.m., Naperville Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of North Main Street for the report of a battery in progress. Upon arrival, it was determined that the pictured male offender punched a female United States Postal Service mail carrier in the face, knocked her to the street, rifled her pockets in an apparent attempt at robbery, but ultimately left without taking anything. The offender fled the area in a newer model black, Nissan sedan. The vehicle, believed to be a Nissan Versa Note with partial plate with the first character of “Q,” was driven by the pictured female black with shoulder length hair beneath a stocking cap.

The main offender is described as a tall thin black male in his 40s, black/gray hair, missing four front top teeth, wearing black knit cap, hoodie, black jacket, weathered jeans with bleach/acid-wash spots, red colored high top shoes, and a light blue colored surgical mask around his neck he used in an attempt to cover his face. Please NOTE the main offender dropped the pictured purple bandana at the scene prior to the incident.
