Naperville Police Arrest Three for Financial Crimes

On Wednesday, November 1, 2017 the Naperville Police Department arrested three suspects for Continuing a Financial Crimes Enterprise, a Class 1 Felony, stemming from a four-month-long Investigation.

In June of 2017 the Naperville Police Department began receiving reports from victims that their debit cards had been compromised and that cash had been withdrawn from their account without their knowledge.

An ensuing investigation revealed a skimmer device had been placed in a local ATM resulting in card numbers and PIN numbers being recorded. Subsequently, multiple cash transactions occurred with an estimated loss of over $25,000, in the Naperville cases.

During the course of the investigation, the suspects in the Naperville incident were seen committing similar offenses in Wilmette, Carol Stream and other Chicagoland suburbs. The cooperation of the Wilmette and Carol Stream Police Departments, the Secret Service, and ICE were all critical to the success of the investigation.
