Armed Robbery Investigation
At approximately 1:08 a.m. Naperville Police Department officers responded to the 600 block of south Route 59 for the report of a suspicious person at a local restaurant. Upon arrival it was determined that the suspicious person was the victim of an armed robbery that had just occurred. The victim is a 14 year old male from Naperville. The offenders, who had left the scene prior to police arrival, displayed a silver and black, semi-automatic handgun and stole a handbag along with electronics. The offenders left the scene in a red vehicle with front end damage. A short time later Naperville Police Officers observed a vehicle matching the description and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The vehicle fled from the police and a pursuit occurred. The pursuit was terminated a short time later due to the speed and erratic driving. The offending vehicle was later located unoccupied and abandoned in the 1200 block of Webster Road. A search for the offenders was conducted but unsuccessful. A handgun has been recovered, however the suspects are still at large. There were no injuries involved in this incident.
The offenders are described as follows:
Offender 1: Male, black or Hispanic late teens, with black faded hair and a thin mustache. He was reported to be wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans.
Offender 2: Male, black, late teens, approximately 5’11-6’00”, medium build, a small goatee, and black hair in a bun. He was reported to be wearing a red shirt, black shoes, and earrings. Offender 2 displayed a silver and black, semi-automatic handgun.
