Motorcycle and Scooter Parking
Metra BNSF Schedule Change Effective June 11
On Monday, June 11 a new Metra BNSF Line train schedule will go into effect. This schedule change is a result of Metra implementing Positive Train Control (PTC), a federally mandated safety system that will automatically stop a train if the engineer fails to obey a signal or exceeds the speed limit. The new schedule can be viewed here.
To accommodate the changes to the Metra schedule, Pace bus routes that serve the Naperville and Route 59 stations are also adjusting their schedules accordingly come Monday, June 11. Please visit http://www.pacebus.com/sub/schedules/route_notices.asp and plan ahead for these changes.
Motorcycle and scooter parking is available at the Naperville and Route 59 Metra Stations.
A limited number of covered permit motorcycle spaces are available on the south side of the tracks at the Naperville Station.
Permits for the covered motorcycle parking spaces at the Naperville Station are issued in mid-March on a first-come, first-serve basis. All 2018 permit parking spaces have been taken. For more information, please contact the City of Naperville Commuter Call Center at (630) 305-5330.
Parking is available in designated spaces on the north side of the tracks at the Naperville Station. Free motorcycle parking is also available in designated spaces at the east side of the Route 59 Lot (north side of the train tracks). Motorcycles may not be parked at bicycle racks.
Motorcycle Parking with a Valid Commuter Parking Permit
Commuters with a valid commuter parking permit must register their motorcycles with the City of Naperville prior to parking in the commuter lots and provide a valid commuter parking permit number, motorcycle license plate number, email address and phone number. Once a registration form has been submitted, commuters will be notified by the City that their registration has been accepted.
Please be aware of the following regulations related to the program:
- Only one motorcycle may be registered for each permit.
- Motorcycles must be parked in the same lot as designated on the commuter parking permit (i.e., commuters with a Burlington permit must park their motorcycle in the Burlington Lot).
- Commuters may not use their permits to park both a vehicle and a motorcycle in the lot at the same time.
If you are a current commuter parking permit holder and would like to register your motorcycle, please fill out the Motorcycle Parking Registration Form (PDF) and return to the
Transportation Department - Commuter Parking
The City of Naperville would like to remind commuters that a scooter is classified as a motor vehicle by the State of Illinois. Therefore, scooters must be parked in the designated motorcycle parking areas at the Naperville and Route 59 Metra Stations.
