Introduction

The Fire Department provides Emergency Medical Services to residents in Naperville and unincorporated Naperville. The Department operates seven paramedic ambulances 24 hours per day. In addition, all front line fire engines are equipped with paramedic equipment to ensure medical procedures can be provided within 4-6 minutes of the request for services. The Department has over 140 State of Illinois Licensed Paramedics who also function as Firefighters.


Ambulance Reports

In order to obtain a copy of an ambulance report, an "Authorization to Release Medical Information" form signed by the patient or other legally authorized individual plus a photo ID must be submitted. Copies of ambulance reports may be obtained at Naperville’s Fire Administrative Office, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information call (630) 305-5900.


Ambulance/Medicare Billing

The ambulance rates in the City of Naperville have changed effective January 1, 2010 (subject to increase every January 1) to:
 
Resident: 

  • BLS - $485.00
  • ALS1 - $595.00
  • ALS2 - $815.00

Non-resident: 

  • BLS - $705.00
  • ALS1 - $815.00
  • ALS2 - $975.00

Other Fees:

  • All patients transported are charged a mileage fee of $7.15/mile.
  • Resident/Non-resident:  BLS (Citizen Assist) - $50.00 for the third and ongoing response per calendar year
  • Resident/Non-resident:  ALS Refusal - $100.00 per response
