  Driver's Licenses

 Residents From Out of State
New Illinois residents must transfer their vehicle titles and purchase license plates immediately upon relocation. You must change your vehicle registration within 30 days by filling out a form at a driver services facility. You may continue to drive with a valid out-of-state driver's license for 90 days. To obtain an Illinois driver's license, visit a driver services facility; surrender your out-of-state license; and pass a vision screening, written exam and possibly a road exam.

 Residents From Within Illinois
New residents who have moved within the state must notify the Illinois Secretary of State’s office within 10 days of address change.
