Metra Announces BNSF Schedule Changes Effective July 12, 2010

NAPERVILLE, Ill.— Effective Monday, July 12, 2010, minor schedule changes will impact nearly two dozen trains on Metra’s Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Line. Metra is implementing the changes to accommodate a major construction project in Downers Grove and to provide more reliable service by having run times more accurately reflect actual operating conditions.

Due to the schedule changes, trains may have a slightly earlier or later departure time. Changes may result in a slightly longer commute for some passengers. The city is working with Pace to obtain an updated bus schedule based on the Metra stations. This information will be announced as soon as it becomes available.

All commuters are advised to check the schedule changes posted on the City of Naperville’s website at www.naperville.il.us/transit.aspx or on Metra’s website at www.metrarail.com.
