City Reminds Residents of Street Closures Related to Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 22

NAPERVILLE, Ill.— The City of Naperville reminds all residents and interested parties of the upcoming street closures that will be in effect throughout the Turkey Trot 5K taking place on Thursday, November 22.

The Turkey Trot is an annual event organized by the Naperville Lions Club. The event will start and finish at Naperville Central High School. The run requires temporary street closures beginning at approximately 7:30 a.m. and ending by approximately 10 a.m. Race route streets are re-opened to traffic as soon as the Naperville Police Department determines it is safe. The race route only will be a no parking, tow zone from 5 to 10 a.m. and will be posted accordingly.

To accommodate the large number of race participants, the northbound lanes of West Street will be closed between 8 and 8:30 a.m. This closure is to allow participants at the start of the race to extend across northbound West Street and then safely merge over onto southbound West Street as runners begin to spread out.

Motorists should expect delays through the morning hours in and around the race route area and take alternate routes or allow extra time to get to their destination. A color-coded map of the street closures is located on the City’s website at www.naperville.il.us/walkrun.aspx. The map requires Adobe Acrobat reader to view.
