On Tuesday, May 13, 2008, public safety officers from several jurisdictions in DuPage County came together to honor law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. A Peace Officers' Memorial Service was held at the Naperville Police Department and hosted by the NPD, the Naperville Police Association of Chaplains and the DuPage County Chiefs of Police Association. The event featured a multi-jurisdictional honor guard, prayer and scripture readings, a presentation of the wreath, a moment of silence and a rifle volley. Mayor A. George Pradel and several Naperville council members attended.
