With an eye on economic development and the fiscal oversight of the City, local business attorney Kevin Coyne is proud to be a part of the Naperville City Council. Prior to his 2015 election to Council, Coyne served on Naperville’s Planning and Zoning Commission from 2011 to 2015 and the Naperville Fair Housing Commission from 2007 to 2010.
A native of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Coyne has lived – and been heavily active – in the Naperville community since his arrival in 2000. He is the past Executive Director of the Naperville Last Fling and has been involved with the Naperville Jaycees, West Suburban Irish, Exchange Club and KidsMatter. A past member of the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Coyne currently serves on the Chamber’s legislative steering committee. These days, he can been seen on local sporting fields coaching his six-year-old daughter’s soccer team.
Coyne holds degrees in business from the University of Iowa (BBA), law from the DePaul College of Law and advanced law from the John Marshall Law School (LL.M.). He has practiced law in the Naperville area for 15 years.
Councilman Coyne was re-elected to the City Council in 2017; his upcoming term expires in 2021.
