The NFD protects more than 146,000 people in Naperville and the surrounding unincorporated Naperville Fire Protection District. Residents are served by nine fire stations. The administration is office located at 1380 Aurora Avenue.

Ambulance Service
The Fire Department provides Emergency Medical Services to residents in Naperville and unincorporated Naperville.

Citizen Fire Academy
The Citizen Fire Academy is a program designed to give participants a working knowledge of the Naperville Fire Department using brief classroom discussions, with a primary focus on hands-on exercises.
 
CPR and AED Certification
The Naperville Fire Department offers CPR/AED certification classes to laypersons and healthcare providers. Recertification classes are also available.

City of Naperville and Edward Hospital are working together to make Naperville the “heart-safest” community in the United States by installing automated external defibrillators in public gathering places.
 
Lock Boxes
The Naperville Fire Department recommends the Supra Max lock box to gain entry into a building, if necessary.
 
MEDIC Program
Through the use of a computer database, this voluntary program allows 911 operators to relay data to appropriate response personnel from the Police, Fire, Utilities and Public Works Departments in an emergency.

If you live in the City limits of Naperville, open burning is prohibited.
 
Public Education Program
The purpose of the Public Education Program is to educate persons in the community about Fire Prevention and overall Fire/Life Safety.
 
Y-Fire Program
Nationally, over 50% of all arson arrests are youths under the age of 18. By addressing your child’s fire play early, you can take a positive step in insuring that your child will not be included in those statistics.
