About Utility Meters 

Electric meters are installed by the city and are generally located outside.  New water meters, which must be installed by a licensed plumber, have remote readers, which make it unnecessary for a meter reader to enter the home. 

The city reads electric and water meters on a monthly basis. Meter Readers wear city identification badges. Residents are asked to make sure that meters are easily accessible.


Submit Reads Electronically 

If you would like to submit your meter read electronically, please include your Account Number, name, address, telephone number and date of read and use this form for electronic submission.

For questions regarding your meter reading you may contact the Finance Department at (630) 420-6059, Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
