Police Investigate Serious Traffic Crash

On November 24, 2016 at 12:17 p.m., the Naperville Police Department and Naperville Fire Department responded to the area of 248th Avenue and Ashwood Road for a single vehicle traffic crash involving a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist, a 19 year old, Naperville resident, was transported from the scene by Naperville Fire Department paramedics to Edward Hospital for treatment of his injuries. No other individuals were involved.

Further investigation revealed that the motorcyclist was northbound 248th Ave approaching Ashwood when he lost control of his motorcycle, a 2006 Honda CBR600RR, striking the east curb. The motorcyclist became separated from his motorcycle and crashed into a light pole suffering serious injuries.

Due to the nature of the crash, members of the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit specially trained in crash reconstruction responded to the scene to investigate the crash. 248th Avenue was closed to northbound traffic between Royal Portbrush and 103rd St. for several hours.
