Retail Theft and Aggravated Battery Arrest

On December 2, 2016 at approximately 1:00 P.M. the Naperville Police Department responded to a report of Armed Robbery at Dick’s Sporting Goods located at 2763 W. 75th St. Upon arrival officers learned two female offenders had fled the area, after taking clothing items without paying for them and using mace against store personnel who attempted to stop them. They fled in a gold colored Chevrolet, and was last seen east on 75th St. Officers, monitoring the area, located the offender’s vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Ogden Ave and Rickert Rd. After conducting additional investigation, the offenders were placed into custody and transported to the Naperville Police Department.

During the course of the investigation, it was learned the same two female offenders were responsible for a similar incident earlier in the day, at another Dick’s Sporting Goods in Bloomingdale, Illinois. Bloomingdale Police assisted the Naperville Police Department in this investigation.

Upon consultation with the DuPage State’s Attorney’s Office, the offenders were charged with multiple felonies:

Suspect #1 Information: Glascow, Destiny U., 12/21/1997 127 Birch St. Carpentersville, Il 60110

Charges: Aggravated Battery-Felony (two counts); Retail Theft-Felony (one count); Retail Theft-Misdemeanor (one count).

Suspect #2 Information: 16 Years of Age female.

Charges: Aggravated Battery-Felony (three counts); Retail Theft-Felony (one count); Retail Theft-Misdemeanor (one count).

The suspects were transported to the DuPage County Jail and Kane County Youth Home, respectively.

The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
