"On Your Own” is a third grade latchkey program presented to approximately 4,000 students in School District #203, School District #204 and all private schools in Naperville by a Community Education Specialist. “On Your Own” is completed in one classroom period and consists of a power point presentation followed by discussion with the children on topics they need to be aware of when they are on their own at home. The students also receive a booklet to take home and share with their parents and discuss safety information. “On Your Own” helps students and parents to be sure the students are ready to be safe at home at those times when they do have to stay home alone.
