The City of Naperville, in conjunction with the United States Department of Homeland Security, encourages all residents to better prepare themselves and their families for a disaster during National Preparedness Month.
To further the city’s goal of increasing public awareness in preparing for emergencies, a National Preparedness Month observance will take place from 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, September 2 at the Naperville Municipal Center, 400 S. Eagle St. Please visit the city’s website in the coming weeks for details on this educational and informative event for the entire family.
Available to tour during this event will be the DuPage Mobile Command Vehicle and Light Truck.

The city has published an Emergency Preparedness Guide with helpful tips on what to do before, during and after an emergency. The guide lists examples of what to include in a family disaster supply kit, how residents can obtain notification during an emergency, how to store food and water in an emergency and more. The guide is available for download at www.naperville.il.us/emergencyprepguide.aspx.
