75th Street and Book Road Intersection Improvements
This summer, DuPage County is improving the intersection of 75th Street and Book Road. Throughout construction, daily lane closures on both 75th Street and Book Road at the intersection will be necessary.
- Latest Project Updates
August 7: DuPage County currently anticipates the completion of this project by the end of the month.
July 13: Work to date has included installation of erosion control, traffic control (signs), curb and gutter removal along both 75th Street and Book Road, concrete curb and gutter and base course for the 75th Street turn lanes, culvert extension and traffic signal foundations.
Traffic signals are nearly complete with surface pavement and path realignment the last major items to be completed.
June 2: The medians on 75th Street are almost done, with surface course needing to be poured. Traffic signal foundation installation will be next. Following some utility work, the widening of Book Road will be complete in the near future.
May 4: Work to date has included installation of erosion control and traffic control (signs).
Week of May 1: Work on the project has begun.
- Project Overview
This project includes extending the existing left turn lanes on 75th Street, adding a southbound right turn lane on Book Road and modernizing the traffic signal to provide a left turn on arrow only for 75th Street. In addition, the configuration of the sidewalk and bike path located in the vicinity of the intersection is being improved.
Construction began the week of May 1 and is expected to last through approximately mid-July 2017, pending weather or unforeseen circumstances.

Throughout construction, daily lane closures on both 75th Street and Book Road at the intersection will be necessary.
