What is RSS
RSS is an acronym used to alternately stand for Really Simple Syndication. But what does this mean to you?
Simply put, RSS allows visitors to dynamically retrieve content from a Web site they are interested in... without even visiting it.
 Users can employ a third-party service known as an RSS Feed Reader or RSS News Aggregator to compile new and updated content from RSS-enabled Web sites (some, but not all, news and sports sites, blogs, etc.) and display it all in one place for you to view easily. These services -- available both as Web pages you can visit and software that can be downloaded to your desktop -- can be used to compile news from any page that has an RSS icon (at right) located either on the page itself or up in the address bar of your Web browser. Note that not all versions of browsers will display the RSS icon and we recommend updating to the most recent version of your preferred browser to take full advantage of everything that RSS feeds can provide.
There are many Feed Readers and News Aggregators available both free and for a fee. It's up to you to pick one, read the instructions and other information, try it out and see what suits you best. The links below go to some Web sites that offer readers and aggregators for your use.
