Water Distribution and Collection Division

The WD&C Division maintains 616 miles of water main, 7,813 valves, 8,450 fire hydrants, 28 sanitary sewer pump stations (8 are backup prevention stations), 475 miles of sanitary sewer lines and 11,060 sanitary sewer manholes.

We are a 24/7 operational division.  There are 40 employees including five frontline personnel, five field supervisors, four supervisors, one manager and 25 field personnel. Our call center number is (630) 420-6137.

There are four sections that are in the division:

Manager section:
Handles customer calls for all sanitary sewer and water problems, concerns, walk-ins for water meters, copperhorns, water conservation questions and payments (cashiers check or money order only).  During normal working hours we dispatch all crews to the customers.

Water Distribution & Metering (WD&M) section:
This section handles hydrant flow information and maintains the b-boxes, Cross Connection Control program (RPZ’s), hydrants and valves.  They investigate watermain breaks, high bill investigations, replace, upgrade or install new water meters and investigates water corrosion control.  This section organizes the Water Conservation patrol.

Collection & Pumping (C&P) section:
Responsible for TV sanitary sewer lines, jet flush sanitary sewer mains, conduct sanitary sewer manhole inspection, inflow and infrastructure investigations, witness sanitary sewer roddings,  maintain lift stations.

Repair & Excavation (R&E) section:
Performs sewer and water excavations and repairs, repair and excavate fire hydrants, install vac-a-tees/cleanouts and repair b-boxes, sanitary sewer manholes and vaults.
