The City of Naperville is committed to maintaining your online privacy. This document explains the Privacy and Security Policy for www.naperville.il.us. It also explains how we safeguard your privacy as a user of this Web site. It describes what types of personal information we collect and how we use this information. General information collected
We automatically collect non-personal information about your visit to our site, such as the date, type of browser used, and technical Internet protocol data. We collect this information from our user logs, and refer to it in summary form for identifying trends. Our goal in using this type of information is to help us make our site more useful to visitors. We do not track or record information about individuals and their visits.

If you submit a question or comment that contains personally information, we will only use the information to respond to your request and analyze trends. If necessary, we may redirect your message to another government agency or person who is in a better position to answer your question.
The city does not sell or rent or otherwise distribute user information, including electronic mail addresses, to any outside company or organization, unless legally required to do so. This applies to information that may be collected on the city's site and on that of any third party with whom the city contracts to provide Internet related services.
How we protect your personal information
Increasingly, you have the option to do business with the city over the Web including making electronic payments for goods and services. Such transactions are allowed only under tightly controlled circumstances, where there are appropriate technological and other safeguards in place to protect financial and other sensitive data. The City of Naperville website, www.naperville.il.us, was created to provide the public with information about city government services and events. The Community Relations Office manages all information and applications that appear on the city’s website. The Community Relations Office maintains and approves all information and data exclusive to the city of Naperville departments, including information regarding programs sponsored by these departments. Promotion of city-sponsored events and projects will be allowed at the discretion of the Community Relations Office.
