Structure Fire 1000 block of Erb Farm Ct.

At 8:07 PM on December 6, 2017, Naperville’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) received a 911 call from a resident reporting that their house was full of smoke. Naperville PSAP immediately dispatched a General Alarm assignment consisting of three engines, two ladder trucks, one squad truck, two ambulances, and two shift commander vehicles bringing a total of twenty-four firefighters to the scene. First arriving fire companies arrived on scene within six minutes of the initial 911 call and confirmed that all residents were safe and out of the home. Crews advanced a hose line to the interior of the structure and began searching for the source of the smoke. Exterior crews ventilated the residence enabling interior crews to quickly discover a fire in the first-floor rear of the home. The fire was rapidly extinguished while overhaul efforts were implemented to locate and extinguish any hidden fire.

The home has been deemed uninhabitable because of this fire and the cause is currently being investigated by members of the Naperville Fire Investigation Team. There were no injuries to citizens or civilians because of this incident.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Naperville Police Department, Naperville Transportation Engineering and Development Team, Naperville Electric, Naperville Water Department, and NICOR. The Warrenville Fire Protection District assisted by providing station coverage. The American Red Cross also assisted on scene and will be providing support to the stricken family.
