Naperville Firefighters Battle Structure Fire in 2400 Block of Madera Lane

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - At 01:05 this morning, Naperville’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) received a 911 call for the report of a fire in single family home. A general alarm was dispatched for the call, while units were en-route, a call from the resident was received confirming the structure fire. The General Alarm assignment consists of three engines, two ladder trucks, one squad, two ambulances, and two shift commanders, bringing a total of 24 firefighters to the scene. The first arriving fire department unit arrived on scene within seven minutes of the original call and reported a fully involved structure fire in a single family home. The first arriving unit upgraded the assignment to a box alarm at 0114, bringing in additional fire/EMS units and command staff to the scene. Arriving units were able to determine that there were no civilians in the house from the owner. The main body of fire was extinguished within 45 minutes of the first unit’s arrival. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Residents from the home were displaced and Red Cross was on scene to assist.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Downers Grove FD, Bolingbrook FD, Plainfield FPD, Lisle-Woodridge FPD, and Naperville Police Department. Other agencies to assist on scene were Nicor, Naperville Emergency Management Agency, (TED) Transportation and Engineering Division, and Com Ed. The Plainfield FPD, Bolingbrook FD, Wheaton FD, Warrenville FPD, Oswego FPD, and Downers Grove FD provided coverage for Naperville fire stations during this incident. There was one firefighter transported from the scene to Edward Hospital for evaluation due to a medical problem. There were no civilians injured.
