Naperville Police Arrest Suspect in Aggravated Battery Case

A 28-year-old Lisle man was arrested Friday, August 4, on aggravated battery charges stemming from an incident that occurred at approximately 11:55 p.m. on Sunday, July 30.

Nicarro Drake, 28, of Lisle, is charged with one count of Aggravated Battery, a Class 3 felony.

At approximately 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 31, a 30-year-old female from Naperville arrived at the Naperville Police Station to report that she had been battered while in her vehicle, shortly before midnight (07/30/2017), in an alley in the 0-100 block of West Van Buren Avenue. The subsequent investigation led police to Drake, who is alleged to have struck the victim in the face and head with his fist multiple times.

The victim, who had previously come into contact with the suspect during the course of the evening, suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
