Naperville Police Investigate Shooting

On today’s date at 4:45pm, Naperville Police Officers were dispatched to the downtown Naperville train station at 105 4th Ave for a report of a gunshot victim on the platform.  Upon arrival officers located a male white subject, 45 of Homewood, a conductor on the Amtrak train, who was the victim of a single gunshot wound to the torso.  The victim was subsequently transported to Edward Hospital in Naperville, and was conscious and alert at that time. 

Officers also located a male white, in his 70s of Wisconsin, who was allegedly the suspect in the shooting. They found the subject being restrained by other passengers on the train. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody and a handgun was recovered, there is no additional threat to public safety.
