Work expected to last four days, pending weather and unforeseen circumstances
(Work on this project was completed on Friday, December 7.)
Maintenance work on the River Road railroad crossing is now scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, November 27 and is expected to be complete by 10 p.m. on Friday, November 30, pending weather and unforeseen circumstances.
Work by the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railway to pull and replace several pads and track from the crossing and install new asphalt will require a complete closure of the crossing to all traffic. The BNSF will re-route traffic on River Road via a posted detour on Jefferson and Ogden avenues. Access to local destinations near or adjacent to the crossing will be maintained. Motorists should use caution in the area until the project is complete.
