Naperville Police Arrest One in Connection with Commercial Burglaries

A Naperville Police Department investigation into several reported crimes in Naperville since the beginning of August led to the arrest of a Naperville man on felony charges earlier this week.

Naperville Police Officers took Brendan E. Scheel, 24, into custody and executed a search warrant at his residence on the 1500 block of West Jefferson Avenue on September 18.

Scheel is charged with the following:

  • One count of Burglary (Class 2 Felony) for a burglary that was reported on August 5, 2018 at the Standard Market (1508 Aurora Ave.);
  • One count of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle (Class 2 Felony) for a stolen motor vehicle reported from Fair Oaks Ford (2055 W. Ogden Ave.) on August 6, 2018; and
  • One count of Criminal Trespass to Building (Class A Misdemeanor) for another burglary reported from the Standard Market (1508 Aurora Ave.) on September 13, 2018.

Scheel was transported to the DuPage County Jail to await a bond hearing.
