Naperville Police Arrested Suspect for Residential Burglary

On Thursday, April 5, 2018, at approximately 8:26 a.m., Naperville Police were dispatched to the 400 block of South Julian Street for a report of a homeowner who had returned home to find his back door kicked in. Responding officers determined that the offender had fled the scene prior to police arrival and began searching the area and interviewing neighbors. A description of a suspicious subject seen in the area prior to the burglary was developed and broadcast to responding officers. An officer in the area of North Avenue and Huffman Street located a subject matching the description and approached him to further investigate. Evidence was developed during this interaction linking the subject to the incident, he was subsequently arrested.

The subject is identified as Jeffrey B. Roman, 29, with a last known address in Addison. He was charged with one count of Residential Burglary, a Class 2 Felony, and transported to the DuPage County Jail.

The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
