Naperville Police Make Disorderly Conduct Arrest

Naperville Police on Thursday, November 1, arrested a Naperville man on disorderly conduct charges after an investigation into an incident that occurred in the 1700 block of Killdeer Drive last month.

Owen M. Calkins, 67, of the 1700 block of Killdeer Drive, is charged with two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct stemming from an October 25 incident in which he alarmed and disturbed two girls – one eight years old, one nine years old – by yelling at them to “shut up,” asking them to hug him and then placing his hands to his eyes, simulating binoculars, while relating he was “spying on” them.

The Naperville Police Department is looking for anyone else who might have had similar contact with Calkins recently. Anyone having information on this or other incidents is encouraged to contact the Naperville Police Department’s Investigations Division at (630) 420-6726.

The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
