Naperville Police Investigate Armed Robbery Stemming from Meeting Arranged on Social Media

On Wednesday, April 15, 2020, at approximately 4:55 P.M., Naperville Police Officers responded to the report of an armed robbery that had just occurred outside a building located in the 700 block of Royal St. George Drive.

Preliminary investigation indicates the male victim arrived in the area after prearranging on social media to film a video for the offender. Upon arrival, the unknown offender displayed a handgun and demanded property from the victim. The suspect took control of the victim’s property and fled the scene in a dark- colored passenger vehicle, last seen traveling southbound on Royal St. George Drive. The victim did not sustain any injuries as a result of this incident.

The offender is described as male, black, in his 20s, wearing blue jeans and a medical mask over his face.
