Structure Fire in the 700 Block of Inland Circle

At 5:57 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 30, Naperville’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) received an automatic fire alarm in a three-story, multi-family residential apartment building. A dual response alarm was dispatched to the fire alarm. Within five minutes of the initial 9-1-1 call, the first companies arrived on scene and E4 had light smoke showing from the front door of the apartment building. E4 found a fire in the kitchen of a unit on the first floor and the alarm was quickly upgraded to a general alarm. A general alarm assignment consists of three engines, two ladder trucks, one squad, two ambulances, and two shift commanders. The resident had evacuated the building and was later evaluated by EMS personnel on the scene and signed a medical release. E4 pulled a 1 ¾” hose line and extinguished the fire. The fire was extinguished within twelve minutes of the first arriving unit on scene.

The apartment was evaluated by Naperville Transportation and Engineering Division and it was determined to be habitable for occupancy. The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Naperville Police Department.
