Naperville Police Arrest Three Subjects, Recover Two Cars Taken in Carjackings, Two Firearms
On Thursday, February 11, 2021 Naperville Police located an unoccupied vehicle parked in the 1400 block of Fairway Drive, Naperville, IL. Investigation into the vehicle revealed that it had been stolen during an armed carjacking in Chicago. Surveillance of the vehicle was conducted, and officers observed three subjects entering and starting the vehicle. Contact was made and all three subjects were taken into custody. A search of the subjects and the vehicle resulted in the recovery of two handguns, ammunition, drugs, and keys to another vehicle in the parking lot. During the investigation, it was determined that the second vehicle was also stolen and taken in an armed carjacking in Chicago.
The following subjects were arrested and charged with the following offenses.
Tommie J Coleman, 18, of the 800 block of Field Street, Hammond, Indiana is charged with one felony count (class 2) of Possession of Stolen Motor Vehicle, one felony count (class 4) of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, one felony count (class 4) of Possession of Controlled Substance, and one misdemeanor count (class A) of Illegal Possession of Ammunition.
Damien C Plummer, 21, of the 8200 block of S. Ellis, Chicago, IL is charged with two felony counts (class 2) of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle.
Karl Erwin Brown III, 20, of the 100 hundred block of Roselawn Street, Hammond, Indiana is charged with one felony count (class 2) of Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle, one felony count (class 4) of Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon. Additionally, he had two active warrants for his arrest.
