Structure Fire in the 2500 Block of Eldorado Lane

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — At 12:03 a.m. on Saturday, March 30, Naperville’s Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) received a call from a passerby about a structure fire in a two-story duplex located in the 2500 block of Eldorado Lane. Naperville 911 (PSAP) dispatched a general alarm assignment consisting of 10 pieces of fire apparatus and 24 personnel, including an incident commander and incident safety officer, to the reported address.

At 12:09 a.m., Truck 10 arrived on scene reporting heavy fire on the second floor at the rear of the residence. Companies on scene deployed an offensive attack, finding the main body of the fire in a second-floor bedroom. The occupant of the address was not home at the time. Fire companies ensured all residents were out of the neighboring unit, then quickly stretched several hose lines. At approximately 12:30 a.m., the fire was deemed under control. Fire companies remained on the scene another two hours to ensure all hot spots were extinguished and overhaul was complete.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Naperville Police and Electric departments. The Bolingbrook, Warrenville, and Plainfield fire departments provided coverage during the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation. There were two minor injuries to firefighters on the scene, who were evaluated and released. The main fire occupancy was deemed to be uninhabitable by the Naperville Transportation, Engineering, and Development Team. The blaze is estimated to have caused $200,000 in damage.
