National Night Out
National Night Out is Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025!
National Night Out is commonly called “America’s Night Out Against Crime” and typically takes place on the first Tuesday of August each year. It is a nationwide event designed to heighten drug prevention and crime awareness, generate support and participation in local anti-crime efforts, and strengthen neighborhood spirit and police community partnerships.
During National Night Out, residents are asked to turn on their porch lights, lock their doors and spend the evening outside with their neighbors, police officers, firefighters and other City personnel. Events such as cookouts, block parties and neighborhood walks all occur simultaneously throughout Naperville and across the nation.

Not every neighborhood in Naperville hosts a National Night Out event, so the City of Naperville, in partnership with the YMCA, is pleased to host a free community-wide event for everyone to enjoy the day before National Night Out!
Naperville’s National Night Out Kick-Off will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4, outside the Fry Family YMCA, 2120 95th St, Naperville, IL 60564.
The event features FREE family fun, including entertainment and giveaways. Attendees can play in a bounce house, participate in games and activities, check out police equipment, and enjoy food for purchase before setting up blankets or chairs to enjoy an outdoor showing of a family-friendly movie at dusk.
In the event of rain, the movie will be shown indoors.

- Donation Drive
-
The City of Naperville has partnered with Metropolitan Family Services for this year’s National Night Out donation drive.
Metropolitan Family Services DuPage has been serving the region for 95 years. Together with Family Shelter Service, they transform lives by offering help and hope to those affected by domestic violence. Family Shelter Service programs provide emergency shelter services and support to those healing from domestic abuse. They operate a 24-hour hotline and offer court and community advocacy for victims of domestic violence.
Neighborhoods are encouraged to conduct a donation drive for this worthy cause in conjunction with their National Night Out events.
