Awareness through education is one of the best ways residents can protect themselves against crime and assist in making Naperville a safe community. The Naperville Police Department is proud to offer community presentations and trainings on a variety of topics to assist with the education of those who live and work in the City of Naperville. Please fill out the form below to request a presentation or training from the Naperville Police Department.

The PD requests at least 30 days’ notice of a presentation/training request for staffing and presentation preparation purposes. Exceptions can be made in exigent circumstances. Once the following form is submitted, you can expect to hear from a Naperville Police Department employee within three business days.

Please note this is NOT the place to request a tour of the Naperville Police Department, schedule a car seat safety inspection, schedule B.A.S.S.E.T.T. training, or hire an officer for extra-duty employment.

CURRENT TRENDS AND/OR CRIME PREVENTION: Invite a member of the Naperville Police Department to speak to your group about current crime trends, local issues and/or crime prevention. Examples include recent criminal incidents, drug awareness, residential burglary prevention, scam awareness, senior safety, and personal safety, among others.

OFFICER FRIENDLY VISIT FOR KIDS: Officer visits are designed for daycare classes, scouting groups, or similar audiences. When available, a uniformed Naperville Police Officer with a marked squad car will arrive and provide a general presentation of the role and duties of a Naperville Police Officer, participate in questions and answers, and provide a gear and equipment show and tell.

ACTIVE SHOOTER RESPONSE TRAINING: NPD offers free training to Naperville businesses, schools, houses of worship, corporations and other community groups to teach citizens proactive safety and response tactics when encountered with an aggressive intruder or active shooter. NPD’s certified instructors can also assist in the review of response plans and lead tabletop exercises and/or functional drills to test comprehension and response.

TECHNOLOGY SAFETY: Avoid falling victim to internet- or technology-based crimes by educating yourself on current trends and potential dangers. Learn how technologies such as text/instant messaging, social networking applications, and online gaming can pose a threat to youth. Most importantly, get strategies and learn about technologies that can help keep everyone safe online.

COMMUNITY EVENT ATTENDANCE: The Naperville Police Department will send personnel and equipment/vehicles, as resources allow, to participate in community events. Such events could include Walk to School Day, science fairs/STEM nights, touch-a-truck events, bike rodeo/bike safety events, safety fairs, and block parties, etc.
