Energy Efficiency Grant Programs

Renewable Energy Grant

Naperville’s Renewable Energy Program enables Naperville's residential and business electric customers to make voluntarily monthly donations through their electric bills to support the City’s investment in renewable energy. Through effective in-house management of the program, the City has been able to save money and is investing it back into the community through Renewable Energy Grants. Funding for renewable energy projects for non-residential customers is available and the Renewable Energy Grant program application deadline is Monday, April 30, 2018

IMEA Electric Efficiency Grants

Naperville’s Electric Efficiency Grant funding for the 2017-2018 IMEA fiscal year has been completely allocated. Please return after May 1, 2018, to obtain a funding application as additional funding will then be available for energy efficiency projects that meet the criteria.

Nicor Energy Efficiency Rebates

Improvements in the efficiency of your home’s furnace, boiler, water heater or insulation can reduce energy costs, increase savings and help our environment through a reduced carbon footprint. Choosing energy efficient products is a simple way to help Naperville become a more sustainable community!

The Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program is designed to offer ideas and tools to help Illinois residents and businesses in Nicor's territory save energy and money. The program provides Nicor Gas customers with energy education, resources and financial rebates to make energy use in their home more efficient and affordable.

Rebates are available for the purchase and installation of qualifying energy efficient furnaces, water heaters, boilers, programmable thermostats, insulation and water heater upgrades in single-family homes and multi-family homes that are four units or less. Additional rebates are available for business customers.

  • Find a Contractor: All products must be installed by a professional contractor unless noted. For air sealing, insulation and duct sealing work, you must use an energySMART-approved contractor in order to receive a rebate.
  • Install new, qualifying products between June 1, 2016 and December 31, 2017.
  • Apply within 90 days of installation or by January 31, 2018, whichever comes first, to receive the rebates.
