Naperville Police Investigate Serious Traffic Crash on Plainfield/Naperville Road

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at approximately 7:33 a.m., the Naperville Police and Fire Departments responded to the area of Plainfield/Naperville Road and Leverenz Road to a report of a multiple vehicle crash with injuries. The initial investigation determined that a 2015 Ford Escape traveling south on Plainfield/Naperville Road left its lane of travel and crossed into northbound traffic. That vehicle subsequently struck two vehicles that were traveling north on Plainfield/Naperville Road with several additional vehicles becoming involved with the collisions or debris.

Three people were transported to local hospitals. One person is in critical condition. The Naperville Police Department Traffic Unit, which specializes in accident reconstruction, responded to the scene to conduct the investigation. No citations have been issued at this time, and this remains an on-going investigation. Plainfield/Naperville Road was closed in both directions until approximately 12:55 p.m.
