The City of Naperville is constantly seeking talented and service-oriented people to join our team and assist us in providing the very best service to our residents and businesses.  

How do I apply and search for jobs at the City of Naperville?

Applications and resumes are only accepted online. Please do not email, mail, fax or submit resumes directly to City offices.

  • Select the desired position.
  • Click on the Apply tab.
  • First-time users need to create an account with a username and password for future use. If you have previously applied for a position with the City of Naperville, or an institution that uses the Governmentjobs.com website, you may sign in with the same username and password.
  • Complete each screen in the application wizard.
  • Click on Accept and Submit upon completion.

What if I do not have access to a computer?

Applicants without computer access are encouraged to use a public venue that offers free access to internet-enabled computers, such as the Naperville Public Library.

Is there an age restriction to work for the City of Naperville?

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to work as a City employee, unless otherwise noted in the job posting.

Does the City offer internships?

Yes. Internships are posted on the City's website with all other job opportunities. Generally, internships for summer employment are posted in February or March.

Do I have to live in Naperville to apply for a position?

When residency is required, it will be noted in the job posting.
