Naperville supports a strong economic environment, annually ranking among the state’s highest revenue generators. Naperville is the fourth most populated city in Illinois, with a median household income well above the national average. The City maintains an AAA bond rating and manages finances to support a low property tax rate. The Naperville Chamber of Commerce is also one of only 75 cities in America to obtain 5-Star Accreditation from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

A New Portrait

Hosted by the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Steve Chirico presented his seventh State of the City address on March 24. With a theme of "A New Portrait," Mayor Chirico reflected on 2021, looked forward to a year of optimism in 2022, and encouraged the leaders of tomorrow to be bright and bold in their relentless pursuit of painting Naperville’s future picture.
