Josh McBroom

Councilman

A longtime volunteer coach and nonprofit board member who has built his business in Naperville, Councilman Josh McBroom is doing his part to ensure Naperville remains a special place to live. First elected to the City Council in 2023, McBroom understands how good government works and how important it is in our daily lives. He is deeply invested in all things Naperville, with a focus on public safety, fiscal discipline and maintaining pro-growth economic conditions that foster a vibrant local economy.

McBroom holds a Bachelor of Science in Organizational Leadership with a minor in Computer Programming from Purdue University, where he graduated in 2001. He moved to Naperville 20 years ago when his wife, Emily, was hired as a teacher in Indian Prairie School District 204. McBroom has been a Naperville-based financial advisor since 2006, and is owner of McBroom Financial Group in Naperville.

He has grown his community involvement through the years, serving as a volunteer youth athletics coach with the YMCA, Naperville Park District and Naperville Little League, as well as a board member for nonprofit and healthcare organizations including KidsMatter, Edward-Elmhurst Health and Linden Oaks Behavioral Health. In 2019, he was elected to the Naperville Park District Board of Commissioners. McBroom spends his free time on baseball diamonds, basketball courts and track fields with his three sons, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. His wife has returned to education as a teaching assistant at Maplebrook Elementary in Naperville Community Unit District 203, where their sons attended.

On the City Council, McBroom aims to bring his financial background and experience in local government to help ensure Naperville remains one of the best cities in America to live.

Councilman McBroom serves as a liaison to the Financial Advisory Board and the Naper Settlement Museum Board.

Councilman McBroom’s current term expires in 2027.
