Naperville Police Arrest Bolingbrook Man for Unlawful Recording in Public Restrooms

A Naperville Police investigation into hidden cameras discovered in public restrooms at a Naperville gym culminated Aug. 24, 2025, with the arrest of Erick Palacios, 47, of the 600 block of Kingsbrooke Crossing in Bolingbrook.

Naperville Police responded to Title Boxing Club, 4003 Plainfield-Naperville Rd., on March 22, 2025, for a report of an employee finding small cameras hidden in two bathrooms at the gym. During the course of the subsequent investigation, detectives identified Palacios, who was a member of the gym at the time the cameras were located, as a suspect. A search warrant executed at the suspect’s home led to the seizure of electronic devices allegedly containing videos and photographs of multiple victims taken from the cameras between January and March of 2025.

Palacios is charged with 11 counts of Unauthorized Video Recording and Live Video Transmission, a Class 4 felony. There is one charge for each identified victim. He turned himself into police on Aug. 24, 2025, and was transported to Will County Jail.

The Naperville Police wish to remind the public and the news media that a charge is merely an accusation, and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
