Naperville Police Investigate Fatal Traffic Crash at Chicago Avenue and Naper Boulevard

On June 19, 2025, at the approximate time of 9:35 p.m., Naperville Police Department and Naperville Fire Department personnel responded to the intersection of Chicago Avenue and Naper Boulevard for a report of a traffic crash with injuries.  Officers arrived on scene and discovered a blue 2024 Suzuki motorcycle had been involved in a crash with a grey 2024 VinFast sports utility vehicle.  The operator of the motorcycle, Dante Fields, 26, of Woodridge, was pronounced deceased on scene after life-saving measures were attempted by Naperville Police and Fire personnel.

The preliminary investigation indicated the Suzuki was traveling eastbound on Chicago Avenue at a high rate of speed when it entered the intersection at Naper Boulevard on a solid green light.  The VinFast was turning left from westbound Maple Avenue to southbound Naper Boulevard at which time the Suzuki struck the passenger side of the VinFast.

Due to the nature of the crash, traffic crash investigators and reconstruction specialists from the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit responded to the scene. 

This traffic crash is still under investigation by the Naperville Police Department.  No charges have been filed at this time.  Anyone with information regarding this crash is asked to contact the Naperville Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 630-420-8833.
