Water Street Parking Garage Maintenance Work to Begin Week of Aug. 25

Routine maintenance work expected to last through October 2025

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — Beginning the week of Aug. 25, the City of Naperville will begin maintenance work on the Water Street Parking Facility, located at 120 Water St. The work will take place in four phases. Pending weather and unforeseen circumstances, all work should be completed and all parking spaces reopened by the end of October 2025.

Beginning the week of Aug. 25, the City of Naperville, in partnership with J. Gill and Company, will begin a four-phase project to perform maintenance work on the Water Street Parking Facility. The project will consist of replacing caulking and joint sealants on the top four levels of the garage. The maintenance will prevent water from leaking through to the lower levels, which contributes to the deterioration of the parking structure. Crews will work on one parking level per phase, beginning with the top level (sixth floor) of the garage. Crews will work their way down each level, with each phase taking approximately three weeks to complete.

Due to the nature of the work, no parking will be available on the level where work is being performed. In addition, portions of the floor directly under the work will be closed for safety. Signage will be in place to direct motorists through the areas closed for construction.

Crews will work Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Unless otherwise noted, staff will work with the contractor to open as much available parking as possible for use on Saturdays and Sundays. Visitors should follow all posted detour and closure signs and use caution while accessing the parking deck.
