Shed Fire on 13th Avenue

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — At 9 a.m. on Friday, May 1, the Naperville Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a 911 call for a possible building fire involving a detached shed on the 00 block of 13th Avenue. The Naperville ECC immediately dispatched a full still assignment consisting of two engines, one ladder truck, one medic unit and two battalion chiefs.

Initial arriving companies completed a 360-degree survey of the structure, provided an on-scene report and established command. Responding units found a shed on fire with no direct exposure to the residential structure. Fire suppression companies deployed a handline and extinguished the detached building fire. Crews continued to overhaul the fire area and extinguished hidden smoldering embers, ensuring the hazard was contained.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Naperville Police Department. Damage is estimated at $10,000. The cause of the fire has been deemed unintentional. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighters reported. No civilians were displaced because of the fire.
