Structure Fire in the 1000 Block of Devonshire Court

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — At 11:26 p.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, the Naperville Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a 911 call reporting a car on fire inside an attached residential garage on the 1000 block of Devonshire Court. The Naperville ECC immediately dispatched a General Alarm Assignment consisting of three engines, two ladder trucks, two medic units, one heavy rescue, and two battalion commanders. Initial arriving companies completed a 360-degree survey of the structure, provided an on-scene report, and established command.

Responding units found smoke and an active fire in the attached garage of a residential structure. All occupants of the residence were confirmed out of the structure. Fire suppression companies deployed handlines to extinguish the fire, conducted ventilation operations, and searched the occupancy for fire extension and remaining life safety concerns. During the search, two dogs and a cat were located and safely removed from the occupancy. After the bulk of the fire had been extinguished, fire suppression crews continued to overhaul the fire area and extinguish smoldering embers, ensuring the hazard was contained.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Naperville Police Department, the Naperville Electric Department, Nicor, and the Bolingbrook Fire Department. Damage to the residence and contents was estimated at $150,000. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The occupancy was deemed uninhabitable due to the extent of fire damage. There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.
