Structure Fire in the 1000 Block of Williamsburg Drive

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — At 3:57 p.m. on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, the Naperville Emergency Communications Center (ECC) received a 911 call reporting an odor of smoke inside the residence on the 1000 block of Williamsburg Drive. The Naperville ECC immediately dispatched a dual response consisting of two fire suppression vehicles to the residence. Initial arriving companies completed a 360-degree survey of the structure, provided an on-scene report and established command. Responding units found smoke and a small active fire in the attic of the residential structure. All occupants of the residence were confirmed out of the structure.

The alarm was elevated to a full still consisting of two engines, one truck, one medic and two battalion vehicles. Fire suppression companies extinguished the fire, conducted ventilation operations, and searched the occupancy for fire extension and remaining life safety concerns. After the fire had been extinguished, fire suppression crews continued to overhaul the fire area and extinguish smoldering embers to ensure the hazard was contained.

The Naperville Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Naperville Police Department. Damage to the residence and its contents was estimated at $100,000. The initial fire investigation deemed the cause of the fire was unintentional. The occupancy was deemed habitable and returned to the homeowner. There were no reported injuries to civilians or firefighters.
