A Naperville resident for more than 20 years, Paul Leong served the community for four years as a board member for Naperville Community Unit School District 203 before his election to the City Council in 2021. Leong believes his life experiences will add some new perspectives and ideas to the Council, where he aims to focus on financial responsibility, public safety and encouragement of responsible growth and development.
A self-employed IT consultant with a dual degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Leong has worked in a variety of professional roles in finance, technology, health care and education. He has held positions as a bank examiner for the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, a financial analyst for Abbott Laboratories, a technical consultant at Innovative Network Solutions, a network engineer at Bell Labs/Lucent Technologies, a Microsoft Data Center technical lead, a claims analyst at Family Health Network and Apex Healthcare, a PC Connection Solutions Architect, and a math teacher at Ray Chinese School.
Along with serving on the District 203 school board, Leong has served on the Art of Inclusion Executive and Steering committees, promoting the creation of diverse and inclusive art in Naperville. Leong lives with his wife, Yuqin (Arista) Wang, and their two children. He enjoys family time, bicycling, listening to live music and searching for and consuming exotic potato chips.
On the Council, Leong’s focus is to guide Naperville into the future. He hopes to protect what past leaders have accomplished so others can find as much pride in Naperville as he does.
Councilman Leong serves as a liaison to the Financial Advisory Board and the Public Utilities Advisory Board.
Councilman Leong’s current term expires in 2025.
