Planting Your New Tree

Naperville's Forestry Division encourages residents to consider planting trees on their own property.

Please note that a tree planting permit from the Department of Public Works is required before planting a tree in a City parkway.

If you are considering planting your new tree in the parkway, please visit the Parkway Trees - Planting by Homeowners page to learn more about the process and to download a parkway tree planting permit application, which includes a list of approved trees and planting directions.
