Clothing and Textile Recycling
The City has partnered with DuPage County, eWorks and RewearAble to collect clothing and textiles for reuse and recycling.
Program Details
Location: Naperville Environmental Collection Campus, 156 Fort Hill Drive
Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 3 p.m. (The facility is closed on Juneteenth; Independence Day.)
Program Duration: The program will run from Monday, June 2 to Friday, Aug. 29.The program’s success will be evaluated to determine whether it will continue.
Drop-Off Procedures: Residents are required to stay in their vehicle while staff unload the items for recycling. Items should be bagged or boxed but not tied or taped closed. Please ensure all of the textiles are dry and remove all hangers and any sharp objects.
Accepted and Not Accepted Items
Accepted Items: Clothing items of all kinds (tops, bottoms, socks, underwear, outerwear, coats, hats, scarves, gloves, suits, swimsuits and coverups) accessories (handbags, belts, baseball hats), paired shoes, sheets, bedding, pillow cases, towels and other household textiles (blankets, cloth tablecloths, napkins and placemats) in worn condition. Shoes must be matched and tied or banded together.
Unacceptable Items: Heavily soiled and/or wet items, pillows, pet beds and curtains will not be accepted.

Items not able to be reused will be turned into cleaning/painting rags or reused in insulation, packing material and carpeting.The program’s success will be evaluated to determine whether it will continue.
