The City of Naperville begins all-out plowing efforts when two inches of snow have accumulated and snow is still falling. The city’s goal is to clear all streets within 15 hours after the snow stops falling, but heavier snows often take longer to clear.

Snow and Ice Removal

The City handles the salting and plowing of more than 1,500 lane miles of roadway during winter weather. Staff uses a priority plowing system that ensures main traffic routes are addressed first, followed by residential streets, cul-de-sacs, alleys and dead ends.
