Naperville Accepting Applications for 2026 Special Event Permits

Completed applications must be submitted by July 8, 2025

NAPERVILLE, Ill. — The City of Naperville is accepting Special Event Permit applications for events occurring during the 2026 calendar year. Applications will be accepted June 5, 2025, through July 8, 2025.

All outdoor events held on City property, e.g., streets, sidewalks, parks, etc., are considered special events, as well as events deemed to significantly impact the city. An event that requests any of the following actions, which must be approved by the City Council, will be considered a special event and require a Special Event Permit:

  • Events requiring street closures (with the exception of neighborhood block parties).
  • Events that require the closure of parking facilities and/or the use of city-owned property.
  • Events that require the posting of “No Parking, Tow Zones.”

Permit applications, a Special Events Resource Guide, and event accessibility and sustainability checklists are available at www.naperville.il.us/eventpermit. Completed applications must be submitted no later than July 8, 2025.

Some events may require supplemental licenses and permits (e.g., fireworks, amplifiers, tents, etc.). In these instances, the Special Events Team will work with the event organizer to determine what is needed.
